1. The short version
CONFESS is built around anonymity. Your confessions are public under a Human # identifier only. We never display your email address or real identity to other users. We collect the minimum needed to run the service and bill $1/month.
2. What we collect
- Account data: an email address (if you provide one) or a Google account identifier, plus a device identifier.
- Content: the confessions, comments, likes, saves, and follows you create.
- Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe. We store a Stripe customer ID and subscription status — never your card number.
- Technical data: basic logs (timestamps, error traces) needed to operate and secure the service.
3. What we never do
- We never sell your data.
- We never show your email or Google identity to other users.
- We never store your payment card details — Stripe handles all of that.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe, Inc. When you subscribe, your card details go directly to Stripe and are governed by Stripe's privacy policy. We only receive a customer reference and whether a payment succeeded.
5. Authentication
If you sign in with Google, we receive your verified email address and a unique Google identifier (sub) — nothing else. We use this only to recognise your account on future visits. If you use email sign-in, we send a one-time magic link to that address.
6. Cookies
We use a single essential cookie to keep you signed in. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
7. Data retention & deletion
Confessions are permanent by design and are not deleted on request, but they remain anonymous. You may request deletion of your account data (email, Google link) by contacting us — in that case your confessions are detached from your identity rather than erased. We retain payment records as required for tax and accounting.
8. Law enforcement
We may disclose account information if legally compelled. Anonymity protects you from other users — it is not a shield for illegal activity.
9. Children
CONFESS is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
